Colorado-based Skywriter MD, a company “Taking the DOC out of DOCumentationTM”, will bring its virtual medical scribe operations to the Brazos Valley in Texas. Set to be located in the Aggieland Business Park off Raymond Stotzer Parkway, Skywriter MD aims to hire 50 employees initially, with plans to add an additional 150 jobs in its first 18 months after opening. Interested applicants should contact the company. Operations are planned to begin August 1.

“After an exhaustive nationwide search, our team selected the Brazos Valley for its expansion,” said Tracy Rue, Founder and CEO of Skywriter MD. “We are more than pleased with our selection and hope to form a trusted collaboration throughout the community. The true deciding factor in making this decision was most certainly the personalized efforts of Matt Prochaska and his team at the Brazos Valley Economic Development Corporation. In addition to their tireless, timely efforts in supplying us with important information, Matt’s team sincerely cared about Skywriter MD’s people and our success. It made the decision easy.” Skywriter MD is a private, professional services company supporting healthcare systems throughout the United States to include local hospital physicians. Rue founded the company in 2015 to help healthcare providers recover time lost to administrative duties related to Electronic Medical Records (EMRs). The company developed a software collaboration tool to create real-time communication and connectivity for physicians and physician extenders (virtual scribes) known as Skywriters. The extenders help providers navigate EMRs, enter data and assist with other tasks throughout a patient’s visit, offering direct and indirect interactions. Skywriters’ non-intrusive presence allows physicians to focus more on patients than computers, increasing access to patient care by giving valuable time back to physicians. The service is compliant with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). Dr. Mark English practices family medicine at Baylor Scott & White Health in College Station and uses the Skywriter MD service. “Skywriter MD takes care of the EMR documentation and lets a provider be a provider,” Dr. English said. “This is an incredibly valuable service.”

A major reason Skywriter MD chose the Brazos Valley was its unrivaled access to emerging students with an interest in a life sciences degree connected to Texas A&M University, the Texas A&M University System and the Blinn College District. Employees of Skywriter MD will gain invaluable, required experience toward acceptance into advanced degree programs and their career plans.

In addition to Skywriters, the company will employ support personnel to include focuses on training, implementations, human resources, sales and marketing.

“We are honored to have the outstanding Skywriter MD team growing in the Hub of the Texas Triangle and writing new chapters in their company’s history here,” said Matt Prochaska, BVEDC President/CEO. “The Brazos Valley has a significant focus on and expertise in healthcare services, and with Skywriter MD’s presence, the community will have a partnership in supporting improved healthcare delivery. Skywriter MD’s mission fits beautifully into this community, because here, we are dedicated to helping solve the world’s problems.” For more information on Skywriter MD, contact Vice President of Administration Elaine Widner at
